Where Ford Performance sits in the market
The same lending, framed around the category rather than the marque.
Ford Performance finance is specialist commercial vehicle finance arranged for Ford Motor Company performance cars in the United Kingdom at deal sizes of £25,000 and above. Hypercar Finance is the independent credit broker that structures it through a panel of unregulated commercial lenders. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and we do not arrange regulated consumer credit.
We cover the S650 Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse, the Ranger Raptor and Focus ST, and the limited-build Ford GT that the Blue Oval built to return to Le Mans in 2016. Indicative monthly payments for a £56,000 Mustang GT over 48 months on Hire Purchase, with a 20 percent deposit of £11,200 at an indicative 9.9 percent and no balloon, work out at around £1,135. Every figure on this page is indicative and subject to underwriting.
What is Ford Performance finance and who is it for?
Ford Performance finance is a commercial credit agreement secured against a Ford Motor Company performance vehicle, used to spread the cost of the car over an agreed term. It is arranged as Hire Purchase, Lease Purchase, Personal Contract Purchase, or Equity Release against a car the buyer already owns.
Because every agreement we arrange sits at £25,000 and above, it falls outside the consumer credit perimeter and is structured as unregulated commercial finance. That shapes the typical buyer precisely: a Mustang GT or a Dark Horse is most often funded by a company director putting the car through a limited company, or by a self-employed contractor, rather than by a collector building a position.
That is a real distinction rather than a caveat. A £56,000 Mustang GT is a serious commercial finance proposition, and it is underwritten with the same lender panel, the same structures, and the same standard of work as a car five times the price.
Dearborn's performance range explained: which Ford models we finance
Ford Motor Company, headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, sells its performance cars in the United Kingdom under the Ford Performance banner, the division formed in 2015 from the old SVT, Team RS, and Ford Racing operations.
The Mustang anchors the range. The seventh-generation S650 car arrived in the United Kingdom in 2024 in factory right-hand drive, with the Mustang GT producing 440 bhp and 540 Nm from the 5.0-litre Coyote V8 at around £56,000, and a six-speed manual still offered alongside the ten-speed automatic. Above it, the Mustang Dark Horse lifts output to 447 bhp in European tune with a strengthened Coyote, a Tremec manual gearbox, MagneRide damping, and Brembo brakes, from roughly £62,000.
We also arrange finance on the Ranger Raptor with its 288 bhp twin-turbo V6, and on the limited-build Ford GT, of which around 1,350 were made between 2017 and 2022 and which now trades at £450,000 and above. Ford Mustang finance options: HP, Lease Purchase, PCP, and Equity Release
Ford Mustang finance is structured as one of four credit agreements arranged through our panel of specialist commercial lenders: Hire Purchase, Lease Purchase, Personal Contract Purchase, or Equity Release against a Ford the owner already holds.
Hire Purchase is our usual recommendation on a Mustang GT. It spreads the full cost across the term with no balloon, ownership passes outright with the final payment, and it removes any residual argument on a car that will be kept and used rather than traded. That suits the limited-company buyer who wants the asset owned and settled at a defined point.
Lease Purchase defers an agreed amount to a final balloon pegged to the projected residual, which lowers the monthly outlay. It works on the Dark Horse, where a performance specification with a manual gearbox holds its position better than the standard car. Personal Contract Purchase does the same but fixes a Guaranteed Minimum Future Value at the outset, so the lender carries the residual risk.
Equity Release is a refinancing arrangement secured against a Ford the owner already holds, releasing the difference between current market value and any outstanding finance as cash. It is most relevant on the Ford GT and on early low-mileage Focus RS cars that have outrun their original invoice.
Ford Performance finance examples and indicative monthly payments
A Ford Performance finance example is a worked monthly-payment scenario calculated against a specific vehicle, deposit, term, interest rate, and residual value. The examples below are indicative only and subject to underwriting.
A Ford Mustang GT at £56,000 with a 20 percent deposit of £11,200 over 48 months on Hire Purchase at 9.9 percent, with no balloon, produces a monthly payment of around £1,135 and outright ownership at the end of the term. A Ford Mustang Dark Horse at £62,000 with a 20 percent deposit of £12,400 over 48 months on Lease Purchase at 9.9 percent, with a 40 percent balloon of £24,800, produces a monthly payment of around £830.
At the other end of the range, a Ford GT at £450,000 with a 30 percent deposit of £135,000 over 36 months on Lease Purchase at 8.9 percent, with a 65 percent balloon of £292,500, produces a monthly payment of around £2,885. Use the calculator above to model your own deposit, term, and structure.
Why does a Mustang sit at the entry point of specialist commercial finance?
A Ford Mustang GT sits at the entry point of the range we fund rather than below it, because a £56,000 deal size clears our £25,000 floor comfortably while still being a car most buyers fund through a business rather than from cash.
That position has practical consequences. Deal sizes at this level attract a wider group of commercial lenders than a seven-figure hypercar does, which means more competition on rate and more flexibility on term. Terms of 48 and 60 months are both readily available, and deposits of 15 to 20 percent are usually enough to secure a decision.
The residual conversation is simpler too. The V8 Mustang is a known quantity in the United Kingdom trade, so a lender does not need the provenance underwriting a limited-build car requires, and decisions usually come back inside 48 hours.
