Hypercar Finance is the independent credit broker referenced throughout. We arrange Bentley finance through specialist commercial lenders at deal sizes of £25,000 and above. We are not Bentley Financial Services (the OEM finance arm operated by Volkswagen Financial Services UK); we are not the dealer; we are the broker between the buyer and the commercial lender panel.
Step one: identify the Bentley and confirm availability
Bentley Motors, headquartered in Crewe, Cheshire, produces three current model lines. For current production (fourth-generation Continental GT with new Ultra Performance Hybrid V8, Flying Spur on the same V8 hybrid powertrain, Bentayga in standard / S / Speed / EWB configurations), the UK dealer network (Bentley Birmingham, Bentley Edinburgh, Bentley Manchester, HR Owen and others) confirms availability and Mulliner specification options.
For Mulliner coachbuilt cars (Batur, 18 units; Bacalar, complete; Blower Continuation, complete), allocation is direct with Mulliner. For classic Bentley (Bentley Boys-era 3 Litre / 4½ Litre / Speed Six / 8 Litre, R-Type Continental, S1 / S2 / S3, T-series, original Continental coupes, Mulsanne) availability is through specialist heritage dealers including Frank Dale & Stepsons, William Loughran, and Real Car Co.
Step two: choose the right finance product for the Bentley
Bentley finance is most commonly structured as one of four credit agreements: Hire Purchase, Lease Purchase, Personal Contract Purchase, or Equity Release against a Bentley the buyer already owns.
Hire Purchase is the cleanest structure if you want outright ownership at the end with no balloon. Lease Purchase keeps the monthly payment lower than HP by deferring an agreed amount to a final balloon, and is the dominant structure on Continental GT and Flying Spur because the Bentley residual on the new hybrid V8 powertrain supports a meaningful balloon at 48 and 60-month terms.
Personal Contract Purchase works on current Bentayga and Continental GT where the commercial lender is comfortable setting a confident Guaranteed Minimum Future Value. Equity Release is most useful on classic Bentley (Bentley Boys-era pre-war cars, R-Type Continental, S-series Mulliner Park Ward) where the asset has appreciated significantly, and on the Mulliner Batur, Bacalar, and Speed Edition 12 limited-build cars.
Step three: Bentley Financial Services vs specialist credit broker
Bentley Financial Services is the OEM finance arm operated by Volkswagen Financial Services UK on behalf of Bentley Motors. It offers a captive finance product alongside the dealer for current-model cars, typically structured as regulated retail credit. It is a competent product for clean dealer-handover experience on current Bentayga and Continental GT deals.
On £25,000-plus Bentley deals where the asset is a heavily-specified Mulliner Continental GT, a Mulliner Batur, a Speed Edition 12, or a classic Bentley from Bentley Boys-era through Mulsanne, the specialist commercial credit broker route routinely produces a sharper structure because we work with lenders comfortable with the Bentley specification complexity (Mulliner can add £80,000-plus to a Continental GT) and with the appreciating classic Bentley market.
Step four: the application and underwriting process
The application runs through us as credit broker. We collect a short summary of the buyer, the deal (dealer or specialist invoice, deposit, term, structure), and the vehicle (specification, Mulliner per-customer options, history if used, classic Bentley Drivers Club provenance documentation for heritage cars).
The commercial lender underwrites against the asset, the buyer, and the deal structure. Decisioning is typically days for current production; for classic Bentley from Bentley Boys-era and for Mulliner Batur / Bacalar coachbuilt cars, the underwriting includes specific provenance and asset review. Final terms are issued, the agreement is signed, and funds are sent direct to the dealer or specialist at handover.
Indicative monthly payments by Bentley model
Bentley Continental GT at £200,000 list, 20 percent deposit over 48 months on Lease Purchase at 9.9 percent with a 45 percent balloon: around £2,515 per month. Bentley Flying Spur at £180,000 list, 20 percent deposit on PCP over 48 months with a 45 percent GMFV: around £2,265 per month. Bentley Bentayga (standard) at £165,000 list, 15 percent deposit on PCP over 48 months with a 45 percent GMFV: around £2,285 per month. Bentley Bentayga Speed at £210,000 list, 15 percent deposit over 60 months on Hire Purchase: around £3,785 per month. Bentley Continental GT Speed Edition 12 at £250,000 list, 25 percent deposit on Lease Purchase over 48 months with a 60 percent balloon: around £2,185 per month. Bentley Mulliner Batur at £1.65 million, 30 percent deposit on Lease Purchase over 36 months with a 75 percent balloon: around £7,550 per month. Bentley R-Type Continental (classic, restored) at £900,000, 35 percent deposit on Lease Purchase over 48 months with a 70 percent balloon: around £4,060 per month.
Common mistakes when financing a Bentley
Three mistakes recur. The first is paying full Mulliner-option list price on a Continental GT or Bentayga and assuming the secondary market will value the specification equivalently. Mulliner options can add £80,000 to £100,000 to a Continental GT invoice; the secondary market discounts heavily-specified cars relative to the option-loaded list, and the Lease Purchase balloon needs to reflect this.
The second is overlooking the classic Bentley refinance opportunity. An owned R-Type Continental or a 1920s Bentley Boys-era 4½ Litre has often appreciated significantly, and Equity Release can release substantial liquidity without selling the car. The third is treating the Mulliner Batur allocation as a finance afterthought; the 18-unit Batur programme requires the finance side to be pre-structured before allocation confirms because the dealer's funding window is narrow.
Frequently asked questions
Can you get a Bentley on finance?
Yes. We arrange Bentley finance on new, used, classic, and Mulliner coachbuilt cars from £25,000 upwards through a panel of unregulated commercial lenders. Bentley Financial Services (the OEM finance arm via VW Financial Services UK) is the alternative for regulated retail-credit deals on current-model cars.
What are the financing options for a Bentley?
The four options are Hire Purchase (outright ownership at the end), Lease Purchase (lower monthly with a balloon), Personal Contract Purchase (lender takes back residual risk via the GMFV), and Equity Release (refinancing against an owned Bentley to release capital). Lease Purchase is the most common on Continental GT and Flying Spur; PCP on Bentayga; Equity Release on Mulliner Batur and classic Bentley.
What is the 50 percent rule for car finance?
The 50 percent rule, formally voluntary termination under the Consumer Credit Act, applies only to regulated consumer credit agreements. Bentley finance arranged through us is unregulated commercial finance, so the 50 percent right does not apply. Early-settlement terms are agreed up front with the commercial lender.
